Met Police Unit CID

Digital Painting by Boris, Former Met Senior Police Artist

Met Police Unit CID is a humorous and highly detailed digital painting by Boris, the former Senior Police Artist at the Metropolitan Police.

This artwork captures the unmistakable atmosphere of CID life. A well worn CID Report Book, a biro that has seen more action than most officers, a battered warrant card holder, and a half finished drink that says the shift is over but the paperwork is not.

Look closer and you will spot a proper old school detail that every plain clothes officer will remember. The orange tipped flash card tucked into the underside of the warrant card, with the orange flap deliberately hanging outside. A simple but vital way of showing uniform colleagues, and especially firearms officers, that you were one of them.

In the background are the classic Met symbols of service and tradition, but front and centre is the real world of the detective. Notes scribbled in a hurry. A memo that should have been filed last week. A reminder that sounds suspiciously like something a sergeant would shout across the office at 2am.

It is a tribute to the unsung side of policing, where cases are built on persistence, instinct, and a frightening amount of paperwork. No blue lights, no glamour, just the slow grind of getting it right.

Available as a professionally framed print in two sizes, with your choice of a white or black inner mount, this piece makes the perfect talking point for any home, office, study, or police themed collection.

A brilliant gift for detectives, retired officers, and anyone who knows that real police work often happens behind a desk with a pen that never works when you need it.
