Meet the Met Police ARV.

Firearms officers on wheels, permanently fuelled by adrenaline, instant radio updates, and a brew that went cold three hours ago.

ARV crews are the ones dispatched to the jobs that make everyone else take one step back and say,

“Right, I’ll wait for firearms.”

Armed robberies, violent suspects, high risk warrants, fast moving incidents, and those heart stopping calls where the information comes in faster than the tyres can grip the road. When the Met needs a rapid, disciplined response, the ARV is already en route.

This artwork captures the unmistakable kit of the modern firearms officer. The ballistic vest, the radio, the cuffs, the Taser, and the serious hardware that only comes out when the situation is already well beyond “have you tried calming down, sir?”

There is also that uniquely British truth. Even in the most elite armed units, there is still time for a battered cap, a crumpled packet of tissues, and the sort of gallows humour that keeps people sane when the job gets dark.
